Update on currently watching Asian Dramas

While I have been watching Asian dramas in my spare time, I think I will let you know the ones I am really liking and not enjoying as much.

  • LIFE

This is a Japanese drama that deals with bullying primarily. There are also issues like abuse, suicide and what-not in this drama. I think it tends to go overboard in being dramatic and that is where it loses to me. I like the actors in it but most of the stuff is way too unbelievable. I did like it the way it started but after that it has been a downward trend on the quality and a soaring trend on being dramatic to the point of seeming idiotic. I am not sure if I want to complete watching this since I am hardly getting any fun out of this drama. I suppose I should have learned my lesson after watching Last Friends -another Jdrama on abuse which was so horrible, it pisses me off just thinking about it.

  • Endless Love

I only just started the drama but it got me hooked. It will be a long ride of angst and tension, but I want to continue watching it. The love story sounds great plus the leads are both amazing actors. If I am not mistaken it will turn out to be one of the best Taiwanese dramas. And I think the sub-plots make sense in this one.

  • Capital Scandal

This is seriously among the best Korean dramas ever made. No kidding. It has so much of depth that it is amazing. The characters are all solid and three-dimensional. It breaks a lot of Kdrama cliches while incorporating some. I will do a separate review post on this one because I am hopelessly in love with this drama.

  • Yankee-kun to Megane-chan

I think the synopsis that can be found of this drama on the net is totally unfair. It doesn’t tell what an amazing and deep story Yankee-kun to Megane-chan actually is. It is the best Japanese school drama that I have seen till now, counting my favorites like Hana Yori Dango and Nobuta wo Produce. I wish I had started watching this sooner. But better late than never. This drama is a gem. I will do a much-needed post on this too so that I can gush about it all I want.

I’ve put some dramas I had been watching on hold. That includes Wonderful Life, King2Hearts, Legal High, Summer’s Desire and In Time With You. I am the biggest idiot in the world to be putting off In Time With You because it has the kind of story that is among my fantasies and fairy tales. But I think some dramas deserve to be watched at the right time!

I am also planning on watching Mars and maybe Autumn’s Concerto since I want to see what the fuss is all about. Before that School 2013 is the highest on my priority list.
